Following Kylie Jenner’s admission that she used fillers to plump up her pout when only in her mid-teens a leading UK cosmetic surgeon has warned that people should wait until they are 25 before undergoing such treatment.

Kylie herself has expressed relief that she didn’t end up on Botched, the American reality TV series featuring plastic surgeries that have gone wrong.

Cosmetic surgeons stress that our bodies need to be allowed to stop growing before we are tempted to start changing them.

At the other end of the scale are elderly people looking for cosmetic enhancement, with instances of people in their 90’s seeking a face lift or an eye lid reduction. These procedures are best performed when patients still have elasticity left in the skin. Although surgeons do not set an upper age limit its important for people to remember that surgical procedures are invasive and consequently they do carry risks, particularly for older patients.

As ever our advice is for people to do their research and weigh up the risks before proceeding with any type of cosmetic surgery, paying particular attention to any age related factors that applicable to the type of procedure being considered.

If however you have already been the victim of a ‘botched’ procedure and want to know if you are entitled to compensation then call our FREE legal helpline on 0333 888 0437 or email one of our team of lawyers direct.

Is it ever too early, or too late, to have cosmetic surgery?
